In the UK it’s been Mental Health Awareness week. MHA is something close to my heart. We all struggle at times and life can be hard. As someone who lives in constant pain that is terribly wearing, I wanted to share something that helps me through the challenges.

PLAY !!

Through play children discover their uniqueness. They explore free of external judgement, they move through the confines of ego and are able to be anyone or anything their little imaginations can dream up.

Adults on the other hand are a serious bunch. And maybe because we are always so serious we can get stuck. For many life can become stagnant, people experience periods of depression. During these times we struggle to see through or imagine ourselves in a better place.

Through play we can bring our imaginations back to life. When we can picture a brighter place, we can begin once again to see the forest from the trees and see the bigger picture.

And It’s never too late to reconnect and re-child yourself.

  • Simply give yourself the permission to play again. Climb trees, balance on rails, dance in your lounge, jump, leap, roll and crawl through the grass.
