I hope you all had a great weekend. How good was the weather here in Hawkes Bay 🙂

On Saturday we had our Results Fitness Camp Christmas party at Te Awanga Estate. Pizza, platters and wine was the order of the day. It’s all about the 80/20 lifestyle 😉

At this point I just want to say thank you to all that made it on Saturday and also thank you to those who couldn’t make it too. Results Fitness Camp has now being going for just over 4 years and there are many campers still with us today that started from day one.

Krystie and I are truly grateful for all your support over the years, thank you for allowing us to be part of your health and fitness journey.

In today’s newsletter I thought I would give you a little more of an insight into us as a fitness business.

Krystie and I have always had a love for health and fitness. As I mentioned earlier in this post Results Fitness Camp has now been running in HB for 4 years. Before HB Krystie and I lived in London where we ran our business Results Personal Training, a mobile personal training company that we sold just before leaving for NZ.

Krystie has been personal training for 7 years and was a competitive athlete growing up. I have been in fitness for over 17 years. However I didn’t start out as a competitive athlete..quite the opposite. It was only after getting the nickname ‘’fatty’’ that I stepped into a gym. Oh how kids can be cruel – But I have to thank them for putting fuel onto the fire 🙂

Krystie and I have both always had more of a holistic approach to fitness and health and ultimately we shared the same values around health, family and friends. Fitness was the catalyst for us to fall in love.

Health and fitness transformed my life. I became stronger, I dropped bodyfat, my biomarkers improved, my skin cleared up. But it was more about the person that I became. I was more confident, more adventurous, more optimistic, more proactive, more compassionate, more empowered and the list goes on.

My thought was.. If the fitness and health lifestyle could do all this for me, the least I could do is to share what I have learned over the years and invite you into the possibility that the health and fitness lifestyle could bring you these positive results too.

The only problem was that the current model of big box commercial gyms was a flawed system. The big box gym felt like a conveyor belt. It was a get you in, get you out as fast as possible system. They didn’t care if you got results, they didn’t care about you, they just wanted your money. I wasn’t ‘’Paul’’ I was number 342. Personal trainers simply counted reps and left there clients on the bike for 30 minutes.

When Krystie and I first sat down and talked about what it was that we wanted to do as a company these are some of the thoughts ideas and philosophies

  • Ultimately we are about getting our clients results, hence our name.

  • We set clear goals but realise the beauty is not in achieving the goal but the person that you become by working towards the goal

  • We believe that people need to take personal responsibility for their health and fitness. In saying that we are here to keep you accountable.

  • We believe in real nourishing food, proper hydration, functionally balanced movement, recovery and lifestyle factors.

  • We believe that by being a TEAM – together, everyone, achieves, more  

 

After much discussion Krystie and I penned out some Results Personal Training company mission, visions and core values. These are the same, mission, visions & core values that I have written on the whiteboard of the office at the studio. A daily reminder for myself and the team.

Mission – Our mission is to educate and inspire those who walk through our doors, to perform, feel and function at their best, so they in turn may educate and inspire others

Vision – a disease free healthier world…one person at a time

Over the last four years I hope you guys have felt like we have managed to fulfil some of our objectives. As I said in the beginning, thank you for letting us be part of your journey. You guys are truely awesome.
