Why motivation won’t achieve your goals

 

Here is a crazy stat that probably won’t surprise you in the least… 

About 80% of all fitness related New Year’s resolutions fail by February 

That’s a scarily high amount of people falling off the fitness band wagon dont you think ? 

And if you ask any of these people ‘why they failed’ most of them give similar answers…

‘’I just lost my motivation’’  – I simply couldn’t keep up with it 

Here’s the thing…

Motivation is rarely the actual issue. Motivation is by all accounts fleeting 

The real secret sauce to long term success is ACCOUNTABILITY 

Someone to hold you accountable when things get tough, when you begin to doubt yourself, when you are sucked in by the lure of another glass of wine or that tub of ice cream 

Where accountability is concerned having a Personal Trainer is the ‘gold standard’ 

At Results Personal Training we pride ourselves on accountability. We believe that accountability is a relationship, and with any relationship there are three levels 

Level 1 –  You meet my needs (this is a very one sided situation, that many businesses operate from. They don’t care about you, they are simply only interested in ‘what’s in for them’ 

Level 2 – You meet my needs and I meet your needs. (again a very common scenario. A little better than level 1 but again nothing more than a trade) 

Level 3 – Your needs are my needs. This is where we operate from at Results. My goals are your goals 

If you tell me you want to lose 5kg then it becomes my goal. We the trainers are invested and that’s why standards stay high.
