Getting to know Josh

Josh is our latest recruit. He was born in Sunny Hawkes Bay but quite partial to a bit of travel. He spent the last three months travelling around Indonesia, prior to that he was doing a Masters of Nutrition at Otago University so he knows a thing or two about food.

Josh will be covering us while we head overseas and he will also be taking on new clients at Results Personal Training. As many of you know, Paul and I don’t work the evenings due to family commitments, however Josh loves to work evenings, so if any of you want to get some afterwork sessions in, flick us an email at fitnesscamp@hotmail.com with the heading EVENING SESSIONS, and we will get you going on your fitness journey.

We asked him 14 burning questions so that we can get to know him a bit better….

What is your favourite kind of workout?

I love a heavy strength workout paired with good yarns with friends and family to keep the energy fun and light.

Who are your heroes?

My little Jack Russel Benny, also Kelly Slater and my Dad… both are bald so I guess they have a lot in common .

Who are your villains?

Unfortunately dairy, RIP ice cream.

Breakfast of champions?

Scrambled eggs with fried onion, capsicum, butter, potato, and rocket! Boom.

Ultimate stress buster?

Heading out to the ocean for a surf! You can’t beat it, I swear.

Theme tune?

The X files theme song

Essential snack?

Dark chocolate

Quote to live by?

Life has no remote.. Get up and change it yourself.

Top restaurant?

I love a good Italian restaurant… and the occasional sushi works wonders

Desert Island item?

Surfboard 😉

What’s the bravest thing you have done?

Jumped out of a plane!

How do you stay on track when you travel?

Google maps… it’s a life saver 🙂 On a more workout note, you can’t go past a good bodyweight workout. With my nutrition I focus on real, whole nutrient dense foods and try to stay clear of too much alcohol.

What’s your greatest achievement?

Racing in road cycling over in the Netherlands with a semi pro continental team.

Favourite cheat meal?

Although I don’t believe in “cheating” your diet, I love lemon meringue roulade with ice cream with strawberries!
