Yesterday I brought you the beginners bucket list. Today we have the intermediate bucket list. These challenges are just that little bit harder. BUT they are still very doable

1 – Conquer the single leg pistol

The single leg pistol requires both incredible leg strength and good hip and ankle mobility. Obviously squatting on one leg is harder than on two but it’s not just twice as hard, it’s more like 5x as difficult.

2 – Run half a marathon

You have probably done a few 5k and maybe even a 10k or two. Now it’s time to go and do the half marathon.

There is still plenty of time to get training. Don’t keep putting it off

3 – Complete the 300 Workout in less than 25 minutes

This was one of the workouts used for the actors for the movie 300

  • Pullups – 25 reps
  • Barbell Deadlift with 60kg. – 50 reps
  • Pushups – 50 reps
  • 24-inch Box Jumps – 50 reps
  • Floor Wipers – 50 reps
  • Single-Arm Clean-and-Press with 16kg Kettlebell – 50 reps
  • Pullups – 25 reps

If you fancy a go, then let me know 🙂

4 – Tour of the Bay 100k cycle race

Tour of the Bay is coming up on the 22nd of October. Essentially you ride out on Middle Road up past Elsthorpe Road round and down past Kahuranaki Road then onto the Tuki Tuki, Lawn Road, Te Mata Mangateretere & Pilchers Roads. That’s 100k

I have done this in reverse and it’s an awesome ride. Even if you don’t do it as TOB then you should still go and give it a nudge

5 – The Tough Mudder

The Tough Mudder is no ordinary mud run. Mud, ice cold water, fire, barbed wire, electric shock therapy, giant walls and obstacles galore. 18k, 20 obstacles and it’s coming back to NZ for the second time ever. Dates are 4-5th November in Auckland (there is also a half this year…?)
